Highlights from Social Media Day 2012 (Makati) Philippines

Social Media Day 2012 in Makati City proved not to be only successful but also overwhelming support of Filipino social media users.  This time around Filipinos got to connect with their online communities in person.

Following the Philippine National Anthem, Social Media Day 2012 organizers Rosario Juan and Tonyo Cruz of Tweetup Manila led an introductory note thanking the social media community for showing their support.  Carlo Ople of The New Media and TV5 cited the current state of Social Media in the Philippines.  Miss World Philippines 2012 also explained how social media has made an impact on the pageant.  Daphne Osena Paez shared her experiences where social media has been used as an effective tool for disaster situations such as the 2009 Ondoy flooding.  Some games, giveaways and surprise prizes were also added to Social Media Day 2012 to make it more exciting.  The 3 hour meetup concluded with some acoustic entertainment from a female duo.

@TM. Am flattered. :) However, I'm not sure what resolution I took the panoramic photo in. I used my galaxy Nexus phone's Panoramic function which is available on Android 4.0.x devices. Not sure if it would look okay if printed in a bigger size. If you're still interested, e-mail me at jaydjesus@gmail.com Thanks!
